The Clinic

One day, every part of the game

Top Tier, in partnership with Yorktown JAA, is bringing a Division I college athlete to Muncie for a full day of all-around skill development. Maia Pietrzak, a senior shortstop for Ball State University, leads two age-grouped sessions designed to build complete softball players, from fundamentals to game-ready decision making.

Every athlete gets work across hitting, fielding, throwing, base running, and softball IQ. Whether your daughter is just starting out or already plays competitively, she will leave with new skills and the confidence to use them.

Sessions are capped, so each player gets real reps and hands-on coaching rather than drills in a crowd.

A First Team All-MAC selection in 2025, Maia has been one of the Cardinals' most consistent hitters and a top base-running threat throughout her career. As a sophomore she started all 51 games and ranked 35th nationally in runs scored. As a junior she hit .341 with 33 runs and 17 RBI before a season-ending injury cut her year short. Over her career she has played in 95 games with 70 starts and driven in seven game-winning RBI.

A Chicago native and Marist High School graduate, she helped lead the Redhawks to Illinois Class 4A state championships as a sophomore and a senior, earning Third Team All-State honors after hitting .427 with 45 RBI and 53 runs scored. She has spent the past four years giving lessons and running camps for young athletes around Chicagoland and coaches hitting and fielding at D-BAT Hickory, so she knows exactly how to break skills down for young players.

Questions

Before you register

Which session should my daughter register for?

Sessions are split by age. Athletes ages 7 to 10 register for the 9AM-12PM session. Athletes ages 11 to 14 register for the 12:30PM-3:30PM session. Each session has its own registration link.

Does she need to already play competitive softball?

No. Both sessions are open to all skill levels. A player who is just starting out and a player who already competes will both get work that fits where they are, along with individual feedback on what to build next.

What should she bring?

Her own glove, bat, and helmet, plus a water bottle. Athletes should come dressed to play.

How many athletes are in each session?

Each session is capped so every player gets real reps and hands-on coaching instead of standing in a long line. Registering early is the surest way to hold a spot.

Will she get time with Maia herself?

Yes. Maia coaches the session herself. Alongside the on-field work, every session includes a Q&A on college softball and the Division I experience, plus autographs and photos.

Who do I contact about a refund or a question?

Email [email protected] and the Top Tier team will take care of you.
